2K Games is once again teaming up with Sony Interactive Entertainment
for the NBA 2K19 Asia Tournament where basketball-savvy gamers from different
parts of Asia are set to showcase their own virtual baller moves and compete against
each other for pride and glory. But, this year's edition of the NBA 2K Asia
Tournament is more different than its previous editions and I'll tell you more.
For starters, it is obvious that the PlayStation 4 version of the game
will be used for the entire duration of the NBA 2K19 Asia Tournament. But, instead
of playing as their favorite or preferred NBA team, participants are mandated
to use NBA 2K19's MyTeam mode where they can create their own dream team
featuring a wide selection of current and veteran NBA players and basketball legends
and customize them to their pleasure with the use of player cards and special features.
Their own dream team will be the ones to use in the tournament which will take
place in Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and the Philippines.
The tournament will kick off with a series of qualifying tournaments
which will be held from November 2018 to February 2019 in the aforementioned
countries. The top two from each country qualifier will then move on to the
Grand Finals which is slated to be held in Manila on March 2019 with a prize
pool of US$10,000 at stake. The NBA 2K19 Asia Tournament champion will win a cash
prize of US$6,000 while the first, second and third runners-up will take home
US$2,500, US$1,000, and US$500 respectively.
