ABS-CBN's top-rating primetime drama series "Halik" is now considered
the talk of the town in the Philippine television scene because of its October
25, 2018 episode where Lino (Jericho Rosales) witnessed Ace (Sam Milby) and
Jade (Yam Concepcion) kissing inside the bar and eventually punched the former.
The episode's shocking moment has created an overwhelming spark from Filipino
netizens and made Jade one of the most-hated characters in local television
today.
I'm sure that millions of Filipinos in and out of the country were able
to tune in to that episode on their small screens, computers and mobile devices.
Fortunately, my assurance is strongly evidenced by its overwhelmingly surprising
reception on television and online as it garnered an all-time high national TV
rating of 27.1% based on data from Kantar Media and the most number of views on
the online streaming service iWantv (which will be renamed iWant by November by
the way).
With this much traction, it is without any doubts that Halik will be an
essential candidate to become not only one of the best new Philippine television
shows that rocked 2018, but also one of the best that defined the year. I am a
