More Filipinos are slated to get more of their daily sports fix as The Score,
the flagship sports news program of the Philippines' premiere free TV sports channel
ABS-CBN S+A, will offer a variety of sports content and experience in a new and
exciting format airing not only on television but also on digital platforms as
well. The new and improved "The Score" will be helmed and anchored by
no less than veteran sports commentator and analyst Mico Halili who made his
return to the Kapamilya network last year.
Joining Halili in delivering the latest news, features and analysis on
local and international sports to Filipino viewers is The Score's own Sports
Squad which comprises of volleyball icons Michelle Gumabao and Gretchen Ho,
basketball legends Allan Caidic and Jimmy Alapag, and current basketball stars
Beau Belga, Joe Devance, LA Tenorio, Jeff Manuel and Jai Reyes but that's not
all because The Score promises to give viewers what they want to talk about
from the world of sports and talk about them with their peers.
On Mondays and Fridays, sports analysts will discuss the hottest issues
in the world of sports with Halili. Meanwhile, various sports personalities
will come over every Tuesdays and Wednesdays to talk about the stories behind
the game. And then there is basketball Thursday where Halili and notable local
basketball personalities share amusing and relatable conversations about the
most popular sport in the country. Add a bunch of engaging sports-related segments
featuring the likes of Victor Anastacio to its flavor, and you have what The Score
is all about.
The Score was first launched in January 2014 during the relaunch of ABS-CBN's
flagship sister channel as a dedicated free TV sports channel. Its original
host, TJ Manotoc, is now the current head of ABS-CBN North American News Bureau
which makes much sense for viewers why he has been and will not be seen on the daily
sports news show for some time now.
