The 2019 edition of the Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL) is already on a roll with thousands of amateur and aspiring professional gamers from different parts of the country vying for glory and to get a great grand share of its Php1.3 million prize pool which is much higher than last year's Php800,000. This time, DOTA 2 is out of its books as it now features League of Legends (LoL), Arena of Valor (AoV), Tekken 7 and Philippines' most popular battle royals survivor game today Rules of Survival (RoS).

League of Legends and Arena of Valor tournaments will have the highest grand cash prizes in the league with the winning team in each game taking home Php200,000. However, since the two are team games featuring five-man teams, the prize will be split accordingly. On the other hand, winners of RoS and Tekken 7 tourneys would likely win the grand cash prize of Php160,000 and Php90,000 respectively. It is yet uncertain whether the organizers are considering a team-based setup for these two games or not.

Anyway, the PPGL has officially began with the first qualifying round for Rules of Survival (RoS) and the Tekken 7 Cagayan de Oro Qualifiers which have been taken place on the 2nd of February. The League of Legends qualifying rounds are slated to begin on February 17 while those of Arena of Valor begin on the 8th of March. These will culminate in the Grand Finals which will be held on February 16 for RoS and on April 6 and 7 for LoL, AoV and Tekken 7.

The games will be broadcast live and exclusively online via live streaming on PPGL's official Facebook and Twitch channels and they will be covered in English for Twitch broadcasts and Filipino for those of Facebook Live. However, the RoS tournament is exclusive only on Facebook Live. Presented by MET Events (formerly Mineski Events Team) and Globe Telecom, the Philippine Pro Gaming League is open to all amateur gamers in the country who wish to make their own name in the professional gaming scene.
