In November 2013, a 27-year old Leyte native was in her aunt's house
when the highly devastating super typhoon Yolanda struck the province. A few days
later, she found her family hiding inside the table upon returning home. She
and her family have managed to put together a dwelling place using salvaged scraps
of metal and pieces of wood after Yolanda wrecked their home. More than five
years later, they have not yet recovered from the tragedy and she was about to
be under the threat of unemployment due to management changes looming in the

She has been a longtime subscriber of Smart and TNT for more than a

letter must have reminded her about it considering that she didn't mind if she
won any major prize or not. Anyway, it looks like a bright future upon her as
she received the Php25 million check at the PLDT headquarters in Makati and was
even given advice from no less than PLDT-Smart chairman and CEO Manny V.
Pangilinan.
From one of the most successful businessmen in the Philippines today,
she was encouraged to continue working in spite of the windfall and advised to
invest in businesses related to technology and food. She would also heed several
invaluable lessons offered by a man who is not only successful in telecommunications
but also in other diverse businesses such as real estate, utility and consumer
food products. She will use most of her grand cash prize to finance her
sister's education and start a farming and piggery business as a fresh start
while the rest goes to her own savings account. By the way, the identity of the
