The
activity center of Robinsons Place Lipa was turned into a modern-day Bang Bang
Alley three days before the 2019 Philippine modern elections as hundreds of young
and hungry gamers from different parts of Batangas grouped into teams with
unique and strange names have gathered with their smartphones and powerbanks to
compete in the mall's Mobile Legends Bang Bang Summer Showdown held last May
10, 2019.
I
was hesitantly interested in witnessing the showdown when I learned about it only
to find out that it was held on a Friday, but I'm satisfied that those who are
missing out on all the action happened there can enjoy reliving the event in
full at Robinsons Place Lipa's official Facebook page. To make it more interesting,
the mall has tapped broadband internet provider Converge to provide strong and
fast WiFi connection throughout the course of the competition and even bring
the competition via live streaming for members of Team Bahay.
Anyway,
knowing that eSports continues to grow and prosper in the Philippines, it is
good to know that there are tournaments such as Robinsons Place Lipa's Mobile
Legends Bang Bang Summer Showdown allowing its participants to showcase their
full potential in conquering the game especially teamwork and sportsmanship and
it is all expressed by what it is witnessed all around. With that in mind,
after hours of intense thrills and spills, here are the top 8 teams who have
proven their might inside the round corners of Lipa's Bang Bang Alley.

The
top three teams were able to take home their respective cash prizes and Robinsons
gift certificates where they can be used anywhere inside Robinsons Place Lipa
while the other teams in the top 8 were not ones to be left out empty-handed as
they also took home a couple of Robinsons GCs. I am hopeful that any of these
teams have the right mindset and potential to take their prowess to the next
