CD Projekt
Red's presentation of its upcoming futuristic sci-fi action game Cyberpunk 2077
has surprisingly delighted audiences with the special participation of one of
the game's main cast, none other than veteran Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves. On
the other hand, Tango Gameworks creative director Ikumi Nakamura brightened the
Internet's day with her intriguing poses while presenting Ghostwire Tokyo. Then
there is the tandem of Banjo and Kazooie that literally stunned gamers in
excitement when they were announced as new DLC for Smash Brothers Ultimate.
These
are just some of the finest moments that happened at E3 2019, but the three-day
affair is more than just moments since it is all about video games. The absence
of Sony may have slightly affected the outcome and reception of one of the
world's biggest and most exciting gaming conventions, but that doesn't matter
considering that it showcases what would be the reflection of the gaming world
and the industry in the foreseeable future. Many have expected Cyberpunk 2077
to be one of the convention's top choices probably because of Keanu Reeves, but
there are others that are sure to be as exciting and thrilling as what we have
seen the most.
With
that in mind, here are my top five most exciting games and innovations that are
starting to make a trend and gain traction after their E3 presentation aside
from Cyberpunk.
1. The Legend of Zelda:
Breath of the Wild Sequel
The
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch brought gamers and even
non-gamers to a different kind of adventure when it was released more than two
years ago and is now highly regarded as among the best games of its time. Now,
Nintendo has officially confirmed a sequel to Breath of the Wild in the final
minutes of its 40-minute Nintendo Direct presentation. And to be honest when we
learned about it, we could have asked more for it to happen.
2. Marvel's Avengers By
Square Enix
The
company behind the Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series made the
announcement of its own version of Marvel's Avengers and I was surprised to
learn that the Internet was not happy about it. The reason for it is that many
netizens don't like how the Avengers are slated to be made in terms of character
development. Fortunately, Square Enix literally tells them 'Who Cares?' because
these developments will be there and need no revamping. Sorry about their damn
luck!!
3. Final Fantasy VII Remake
Many
old and new Final Fantasy fans are ecstatic about the upcoming release of the
Final Fantasy VII Remake for the PlayStation 4 only to be shocked by the
announcement that the remake will be divided into a series of episodes with the
first one to become available on March 2020. I have no idea what the Internet
thinks about this, but at least we come to a realization that the greatest Final
Fantasy game of all time takes a very long time to indulge and finish.
Two
of the most phenomenal first-person shooter games of their respective generations
are making their impactful return with Halo Infinite and Doom Eternal. With so
much to offer from these two magnates that even I can't explain, I'll just let
these trailers below do the talking to end my list of the most exciting games announced
on E3 aside from Cyberpunk.
4. Halo Infinite
5. Doom Eternal
