2019
may probably be the year when one of the most celebrated and well-loved video game
franchises in history makes its return for a new generation of young and old gamers
as Konami officially introduced a new canonical entry to the Contra franchise
for next-generation consoles and the PC and its name is Contra: Rogue Corps.
Produced
by Nobuya Nakazato of Contra III: The Alien Wars fame, Contra: Rogue Corps is a
twin-stick third-person action game drawing upon its roots in fast and focused
combat which features enormous crazed enemies, over-the-top violence and a cast
of diverse playable characters with their own unique skills and specialty
attacks that add to the irreverent tone of the game imbued with more than two
decades of franchise pedigree that led to its success and traction in the
global gaming market through the years.
Players
can customize and craft their own unique weapons, determine weapon load out and
create a symphony of destruction within the Damned City. They can also upgrade
their characters and abilities inside the Operation Room with improved organs
and cybernetics to augment with. Furthermore, they can either go solo in the
single-player campaign mode packed with a chock full of challenging missions
among hordes of enemies or work together in multiplayer with multiple PvP
options to try out with either your friends or random players online including
2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 and even a couch co-op mode to boot.
Konami:
Rogue Corps will become available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch
and PC via Steam on September 24, 2019 in the US and on September 26, 2019 in
UK, Europe and Asia. Pre-order the game now to secure the limited Locked and
Loaded edition which will bundle the game with artwork from legendary
illustrator Tom DuBois who is behind the cover art of several classic Konami
titles such as Contra III: The Alien Wars, Operation C and renouned Castlevania
games. In addition, those who have pre-ordered the game will also receive two Contra-inspired
digital T-shirts and an exclusive character skin for Hungry Beast to adorn.
