Realme 3, Realme's first smartphone released in the Philippines back in 2018 |
Since its inception in 2018 as what was supposed by many tech enthusiasts
to be a subbrand of OPPO, Realme has played well on its own in the global
smartphone market and is now reaching a historic milestone as the
fastest-growing smartphone brand in the world today. True enough, its strong
presence in the Philippines made an intriguing contribution to the brand's phenomenal
growth and success due to the overwhelming flow of support from its community
of users.
After a year of its operations, Realme was able to break through the
list of the top ten mobile phone manufacturers in the world joining the ranks
of Samsung, Apple, Huawei, OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi. This was published in the
mobile phone shipment report for the second quarter of 2019 by international
data analysis firm Counterpoint Research. But the brand is considered to be the
most improved among the top ten after registering a global shipment of 4.7 million
units in the said period or an 848 percent increase year-on-year. Realme has
also registered more than 10 million users from 20 different countries around the
world including China, India and Russia as well as European and Southeast Asian
countries.
On the other hand, its recent string of achievements pose Realme
Philippines' strong reflection towards the brand's global growth. These include
the celebration of its brand month last July, the opening of its first concept
store in SM Fairview and the eventual launch of its 100th kiosk. With a total
of 3,500 authorized dealers and resellers and 110 kiosks nationwide, Realme is
on track to meet its goal of opening 200 concept stores in the country by the
end of 2019 which will further strengthen the brand's retail foothold in the
Philippines. Realme Philippines also has the fastest-growing online community
for a local smartphone brand with more than 50,000 fans due to the consistent
engagement between smartphone users and squad leaders.Furthermore, Realme is
also available on the country's largest online shopping platforms Lazada and
Shopee offering exclusive deals and freebies to further elevate the smartphone
experience of every Filipino.
Realme founder and CEO Sky Li said that the brand's original intention
is to create and provide products that offer new and unique experiences for the
young, and its Dare To Leap concept is based on and supports the said mission.
These milestones are a testament to Realme's commitment of making its devices more
available and accessible to every customer and it pushes the brand to become the
smartphone for a new generation of Filipinos. As a token of its gratitude to users
around the world, expect Realme to launch more high-caliber devices in the
coming months including a highly-anticipated new camera smartphone with 64 million
pixels and a high-end flagship equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855
Plus processor.
