Before the arrival of Robinsons and SM, it was Fiesta World Mall that
changed the commercial landscape of Lipa City when it opened back in 1997. My most
fondest moments inside the mall was during the early years of grade school
where I have fun playing arcade games. More than 20 years later, the first major
shopping mall in the province of Batangas became a watered-down version of The Outlets
at Lipa but it remains resilient amidst the growing and evolving trends in the city
because of its hidden gems that give the place more flavor. Among these is
Northern Light Kaffe.
Who would have thought that a restaurant and coffee shop in the form of
a warm and cozy cabin is starting to gain traction among millennials living in
the city and nearby areas although it is sitting within the confines of an underwhelming
shopping mall which is now past its own prime? Well, aside from the usual offerings
such as its specialty coffee, chocolate drink, milkshake and a variety of
dishes and pastries, Northern Light Kaffe has some interesting amenities that can
surely make anyone come back again, try some more, and even enjoy a swarming
good time in every visit.
First on the list is simply without question the cafe's atmosphere both
inside and outside. Inside the cafe, customers can feel its country style ambiance
and be amazed at its interiors which were made from imported recyclable junk
materials. Every corner of the cafe is worthy of a Facebook or Instagram story
with various spots where people can get the chance of capturing them or taking their
own selfie using their smartphones. Of course, the most favorite picture worthy
spots include the couch made from coffee bean sack, a huge vintage wall clock,
and round chairs that are actually old tired covered with soft and colorful
fabric. This can suit anyone's mood and make one feel so relaxing that he or
she would like to stay and hang out for a little bit.
The roof deck, on the other hand, may probably be the essential spot in
the cafe where couples can enjoy a dinner date that is worth many moments that
would surely make them remember again. They can mesmerize at the scenic view of
the great Mt. Malarayat during the day or enjoy the cold breeze at night indulging
on a romantic dinner under the stunning hanging lights. Furthermore, they can
even enjoy performances from live bands whenever there is an occasional event
going on. And while at it, a mug of beer or two at the chill bar outside can complement
and complete your all out experience.

Northern Light Kaffe is encouraging everyone to create their own
meaningful moments and enjoy a cozy and soothing dining experience within one of
Lipa City's hidden gems since it only accepts cash and not reservations and has
no delivery service for orders. With that much said, it's well worth how you
want to spend either a dinner date or a nightout with friends.
