One
of the most celebrated franchises in video game history has officially entered the
mobile gaming market with Call of Duty Mobile released on the first day of
October by renouned video game publisher Activision and developer Tencent's
TiMi Studios around the world on Google Play and iOS App Store except in
Mainland China, Vietnam and Belgium. Soon after its release, COD Mobile has
literally gained ground and would eventually carve its achievements in the
global mobile gaming scene.
Three
days after its worldwide release, Activision announced that COD Mobile has
generated more than 35 million downloads. A few days later, a mobile analytics
firm reported that the game has earned more than 100 million downloads from smartphone
users around the world in just one week surpassing those of PUBG Mobile and even
recently-released and popular mobile games. This would eventually make Call of
Duty Mobile the largest mobile game launch in history and a new standard for
upcoming games for mobile devices in the foreseeable future.
There
are a number of intriguing reasons why COD Mobile is quickly becoming popular
and well-enjoyed by mobile gaming enthusiasts and those who are not familiar with
the franchise or the game. One of the more obvious reasons is that it is a
free-to-play game where players can upgrade their equipment by earning COD points
while playing as a way of means for purchasing weapons and skins. Another
reason is the look, feel and elements from the franchise that is complemented
into the game such as characters, maps and weapons present throughout the
series.
But
perhaps the most intriguing reason behind COD Mobile's success in the mobile
gaming scene in my own case is the addition of a Battle Royale mode which bears
similarities to one of COD's multiplayer options but is unique in its own way. Players
can enjoy the mode either solo, with your partner or in teams of four using
their preferred choice of perspective whether it is in first-person or third-person
mode. Although you may compare COD Mobile's Battle Royale mode to PUBG Mobile
and Fortnite Mobile to see the difference between them, it has an interesting
spark that makes the feature an unrivalled force to be reckoned with.
Anyway,
Call of Duty Mobile is without question a mobile gamer's proper introduction to
the series and is bound to be among one's mustplays in his or her smartphone. Just
make sure that the game meets even the minimum smartphone specification requirements
before immersing yourself into the action-packed world of Call of Duty.
Published by Activision and
developed by TiMi Studios, Call Of Duty (COD) Mobile is available to download
and install for free at Google Play and iOS App Store in countries where these
stores are supported with the exception of Mainland China, Vietnam and Belgium.
