ONE Championship, the largest sports media property in Asian history, officially
announced its initial schedule for the first half of 2020 via a press release
on its official website with more dates to be announced in the coming weeks
ahead of the new year. This includes the promotion's first two events in Manila
on January 31st and May 29th, its return to Vietnam on March 20th and Tokyo, Japan
on April 5th and its maiden event in Seoul, South Korea on June.
2019 has been an exciting year for the largest mixed martial arts (MMA)
organization in Asia with the staging of its first events in Japan and Vietnam
as well as its initial broadcast presence in the United States via Turner
Sports and India with live broadcasts and delayed reruns. In fact, ONE's 100th
event Century featuring the largest fight card in its history has been watched by
more than 85 million viewers around the world on television and online platforms.
For 2020, ONE Championship will continue to push the boundaries and expand its
reach and engagement towards MMA and combat sports fans across the globe.
Chatri Sityodtong, ONE chairman and CEO, stated in the press release that
the promotion is slated to hold a minimum of 50 events throughout 2020 which
will include those from ONE Championship, ONE Hero Series, ONE Warrior Series
and ONE eSports and is looking to stage its first fight cards in the United
States and India on the said year. Furthermore, following the success of ONE
Hero Series China, Sityodtong also announced the forthcoming launch of ONE Hero
Series Philippines as part of the promotion's continuing bid in widening its search
for the next global martial arts superstar.
