Biggs Diner, the largest chain of fast food restaurants in Bicol
region, has officially arrived and landed in the nation's capital as it opened
its first branch in Metro Manila inside the confines of SM City Fairview last November 8th, and
hundreds of food lovers from around the Metro simply can't stop expressing
their anticipation of trying out what makes the diner stand out among others south
of the city. Fortunately, it did not disappoint them.
First introduced in Naga City in 1983 as a burger takeout stall, Biggs
has steadily gained traction through its presence in and out of the Bicol region.
Carlo Buenaflor, the company's Chief Executive Officer, told in an interview for
Rappler that if you wish to grow big in the quick service restaurant industry,
it is a necessity to have one product as it is the most well-liked restaurant meal
in the Philippines. The diner's selling point is its cooked-to-order meals in bigger
servings, most particularly its best-selling savory crispy fried chicken which
is said to be 30 percent larger than those of Jollibee, McDonalds and KFC. This
is something I would like to try and compare with other fried chickens served
in the foreseeable future.
Anyway, Biggs Diner SM City Fairview sports various characteristics of
what makes it shine in all of its sixteen branches including two in Batangas.
Its interior will be decorated with a retro-centric feel to make the store ambiance
refreshing for customers to dig in. Furthermore, the branch will offer its bestseller
meals such as the fried chicken, spaghetti, burgers and ribs. A taste of Bicolano cuisine
will complement one's dining experience inside Biggs' first Metro Manila branch
but only on special occasions. The initial success and traction of Biggs Diner
SM City Fairview depending on customer feedback will reflect on how it will
improve for the benefit of its customers in the foreseeable future.
Biggs Diner is the latest addition to a bevy of provincial homegrown
brands that have already gained a strong traction in Metro Manila such as SylPaulJoyce
of Lipa City and it is without question that commuters and residents across the
area are able to embrace the culture of the provincies embodied in their
presence. Metro Manila, say hello and good day to Biggs Diner and its flavor
of Bicolano cuisine!!
