The Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles and San Beda
University (SBU) Red Lions were able to automatically book and secure a spot in
the men's basketball tournament finals of UAAP (University Athletic Association
of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 82 and NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association)
Season 95, respectively, with their undefeated streak intact throughout the
elimination rounds. With these in mind, a series of stepladder semifinal
showdowns are set to take place starting this week to determine which team will
face the Eagles and Lions in the best-of-three championship series.
The stepladder semifinals of the NCAA Season 95 men's basketball
tournament will kick off the road to the Finals and it begins on November 4,
Tuesday, with an intriguing deathmatch between the third-seeded Colegio de San
Juan de Letran (CSJL) Knights and the fourth-seeded San Sebastian College Recoletos
(SSC-R) Golden Stags where the winner will take on the Lyceum of the
Philippines University (LPU) Pirates, which finished second in the elimination
rounds, for the ticket to the championship game.
On the other hand, an intriguing deathmatch between the University of Santo
Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers and Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws on
November 5th (Wednesday) will kick off the road to the UAAP Season 82 men's
basketball tournament finals. The winner of the UST-FEU duel will face the
University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons where the former needs to beat
the Maroons twice to book the last spot in the best-of-three championship
series against the Blue Eagles. Though they weren't able to beat the Eagles' streak
in two different occasions during the elimination rounds, UP is out to dethrone
the defending champions upon reaching the finals after finishing second by
eliminating the De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers and earning the
twice-to-beat advantage in the stepladder semifinals.

With Ateneo and San Beda looking to defend their championships and
reign as kings of the collegiate basketball courts, the road to the UAAP and
NCAA men's basketball finals may be steep but the top teams in their respective
leagues featuring their best players are out to step up in their own game and
