Millions
of Filipinos were able to log in to Southeast Asia's largest online shopping
platform Lazada on their PCs, laptops and smartphones and have browsed and purchased
from more than 11 million deals available during the site's 11.11 Shopping
Festival, thus gaining high numbers in the country. At the stroke of midnight
on November 11th, more than 1 million shoppers took part in the festival and
one million items have been sold during the occasion's first hour.
According
to Lazada, these Filipino shoppers have spent more than 205,000,000 minutes of
browsing, shopping and purchasing on the online platform which is surprisingly
187,000 times more than one watching the entire Harry Potter movie franchise
and six times more than the time spent on a regular shopping day. Attributed to
these numbers is Lazada's expanded offerings that make online shopping a more seamless
and enjoyable experience for both sellers and customers such as GUESS IT!,
LazGames and other interactive content as well as newly engaging tech innovations.
Speaking of sellers, the Lazada's Millionaires Club rose to a total of 1,141
sellers at the end of 11.11 where they have surpassed the Php1 million sales mark.
Furthermore,
during the highly-anticipated all-day sale, Filipino shoppers have managed to
collect more than Php170 million worth of virtual shopping vouchers through
various means on the platform and used them to avail of huge discounts of up to
95% on a wide assortment of selected items available on the site. Among the top
performing brands in the 11.11 Lazada Shopping Festival in the Philippines were
Xiaomi, realme and Huawei in the Mobile category; CooCaa, Philips and TCL under
Home Appliances; Pampers, Huggies and MamyPoko in the Mother and Baby section; Hydro
Flask, Kleen Kanteen and Mitsushi under General Merchandise; Maybelline,
L'oreal Paris and Olay for Health and Beauty; and American Tourister, Adidas and
FitFlop in the Fashion category.
"The
support of customers in this year's sale affirm 11.11's crucial role in driving
growth for eCommerce in the country. Lazada is proud to be the pioneer of this Shopping
Festival in Southeast Asia and look forward to setting new records with our
partner brands and sellers in the upcoming mega campaigns we will have
locally," said Lazada Philippines chief executive officer Ray Alimurung.
One case in point that Filipino shoppers and consumers should look forward to
on the platform is the upcoming holiday-bound Grand Yearend Sale from December
12th to the 14th with a huge bevy of deals, discounts, vouchers and more on
hand before the year ends.
