It has been more than a decade since SM City Lipa's FoodCourt opened its doors and feature a wide variety of dining options for shoppers and foodies in and out of the city to indulge in. But in the middle of 2019, the foodcourt has undergone a major facelift which took just a few months before it reintroduced itself to the public with a newly refreshing look and feel that literally cope with the growing and evolving needs in today's modern age. Well, at least that's what I thought when I looked at it.

Anyway, the regularity of the general space around the foodcourt area is given contrast with the marriage of accenting materials and contrasting shapes. The ceiling was redesigned to have coved shapes while uniform angles terminate these curvilinear forms. The element of wood has also been added to the ceiling design exuding a sense of warmth while the central accents colors of yellow and orange introduce vibrance to the setting. Its floors are now covered with white glossy granite giving the FoodCourt a brighter look. On the other hand, tables and chairs were replaced with neutral colors of white and gray.

Aside from the general interior, the FoodCourt's food stalls were also given their own major redesigning and eventually added more to their current offerings. For instance, Inihaw Express now known as Inihaw X has added Lechon Bagnet as one of its specialty dishes alongside its classic "inihaws" and other well-loved Filipino dishes while Gracia's Lechon Belly Atbp., formerly known as Kusina Ni Gracia, is given brighter colors which will remind customers of fiesta celebrations in the country. Seafood Grill Station, on the other hand, now sport a more nautical modern look.

Mr. Kimbob, known for its exhilarating variety of Korean dishes, added more colors to its space and more food options on the menu. Known for its brick walls, Reyes Barbecue retains the yellow and black color scheme of its stall when it opened but imbued with more modern elements including LED screens and a see-through kitchen. Handaan, now under the name Chins, is offering a variety of Filipino and Asian options for foodies to enjoy including fried noodles, shabu shabu, rice bowls and even the infamous lomi. Finally, snacks-on-the-go food stall Kerrimo sports a wider and brighter space while Turks was given a warmer design with the help of wood and black granite countertops.

The relaunching of the SM City Lipa FoodCourt last November 8th became more flavorful with the opening of Lil' Orbits Mini Donuts and ChizMosa. Other mainstays in the new and improved FoodCourt include take-out counters The Famous Belgian Waffle, Lemon Zone, Tokyo Tempura, Siomai House, Lugaw Republic and Chingu Buko House among others. When you care to dine and hang out at the new SM City Lipa FoodCourt, you may be awed and marvelled at how it looks like right now but the place still bears the same feel and premise that resonates with its customers since September 2006 until now.
