Razer Announces Southeast Asia Invitational 2020

The professional gaming scene continues to thrive amidst the ongoing threat of the COVID-19 global pandemic with viewership numbers on different online streaming platforms on a steady rise. With these in mind, global gaming lifestyle brand Razer officially announced the staging of the Razer Southeast Asia (SEA) Invitational 2020. Following eSports' successful debut in the 30th SEA Games held in the Philippines, the Razer SEA Invitational 2020 aims to prepare the region's athletes and federations for the inclusion of eSports in the forthcoming 31st SEA Games slated to take place in Vietnam next year.

Following a uniquely new tournament format, the Razer SEA Invitational 2020 will commence on June 22, 2020 and culminate in the grand finals on July 3-5, 2020. The games to be featured in the said invitational are arguably some of the most popular in the Philippines and maybe throughout the region namely DOTA 2, Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) and PUBG (Playerunknown's Battlegrounds) Mobile. Professional gaming enthusiasts can look forward to and expect hard-hitting and nail-biting top tier action from some of the best players in the region more particularly in the Philippines where it edged out Thailand and Indonesia, respectively, and eventually bagged gold in the 30th SEA Games in explosive finales of DOTA 2 and MLBB.

As national teams are slated to compete against each other in the SEA Invitational 2020, fans can cheer for and support them by tuning in to the official Facebook, YouTube and Twitch channels of Team Razer for the live streaming with further details to be announced prior to the competition proper. The Philippines-based Tier One Entertainment, one of the foremost gaming and eSports talent management agencies in Southeast Asia, will handle the talent relations and overall broadcast for the invitational tilt. The Razer SEA Invitational 2020 is also supported by various eSports federations in ten different countries across Southeast Asia including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. To ensure a high level of competition, the invitational is exclusively open to qualifying athletes who are interested to sign up within their respective eSports federations. Various qualifiers were being held from May to June 2020 determining which players will represent their respective nation and eSports federation for the regional tilt.
