Globe, TM Subscribers Get Free Access To TESDA Online Courses

Globe and TM subscribers can now sharpen their technical skills or even learn more online on their smartphones while staying in the comforts of their home without worrying about data connectivity costs. Thanks to Globe Telecom's newly-forged partnership with TESDA (Technical Education Skills and Development Authority), they are given free access to the TESDA Online Program (TOP) which allows them to visit www.e-tesda.gov.ph anytime on their Globe or TM-powered mobile device without load and without incurring data charges.
The TESDA Online Program (TOP) is an open educational resource that aims to make technical vocational education and training (TVET) more accessible to Filipino citizens and widen their chances of employment or source of livelihood. It offers free online courses including Computer Systems Servicing NC (National Certificate) II, Food Processing NC II, Bread and Pastry NC II, Housekeeping NC II and other courses from different sectors such as automotive, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and healthcare among others. TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña expressed his gratitude to Globe for helping TESDA reach more Filipinos in need of its services in line of the agency's guiding principle "TESDA, Abot Lahat!"

A few months ago, Globe also provided free access to DepEd Commons, the online learning platform of the Department of Education, which encorages educators and learners to take advantage of utilizing supplementary online educational materials for the new school year. DepEd Commons contains online learning materials and Open Educational Resources (OER) authored by public school teachers who are subject matter experts. Teachers can retain, revise, reuse, remix or redistribute the content by blending it with a learning management system to deliver a distance learning modality.

Quality education has been one of the ten sustainability development goals of the United Nations for a better enriching future in the years to come and Globe, as an advocate of quality education, is always committed to support. In line with the new normal due to the continuing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, Globe is slated to push digital learning by providing connectivity to learners and teachers alike. For those who are accessing the TESDA Online Program on their Globe or TM-powered mobile devices, take note that free access does not cover materials, courses and other resources accessed through links outside the TOP website such as videos on video sharing platforms and other courses and links by partners and other organizations.
