The face masks and PPE suits were produced by members of the SIBBAP Multi-Purpose Cooperative, beneficiaries of Pilipinas Shell Foundation's livelihood development program which retained seamstresses from Ambulong, Batangas to help bolster PPE supplies during the pandemic. DepEd Batangas City's chief education supervisor for School Governance and Operations thanked Shell, PSFI, and Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI) for the donations that the agency will value for the students and teachers prior to the much-awaited opening of the new school year on October 5, 2020. On the other hand, Pilipinas Shell President and CEO Cesar Romero stated that the students in the schools helped by the company represent the future of the nation, pandemic or no pandemic, and it is important to safeguard them by ensuring the uninterrupted educational development of young Filipinos.
For 106 years, Shell has remained committed to the Filipino youth by being a partner in nation-building, working to help the country address present and foreseeable challenges for a brighter tomorrow. Despite the ongoing transformation of its Tabangao Refinery into an import facility similar to its existing Northern Mindanao Import Facility servicing the southern parts of the country, Shell also remains committed to support local communities in the province of Batangas amidst the tough and enduring challenges brought by the global pandemic.
