
ABS-CBN Corporation, the premiere media and entertainment company in the Philippines, brings honor to the country as the most awarded among the national winners of the 2020 Asian Creative Academy Awards which is set to compete against national winners of fifteen other countries in the Asia Pacific region in which the grand final winners in different categories will be chosen by esteemed media personalities for their exemplary performance and creative excellence and are slated to be awarded in Singapore on December 3 and 4, 2020.
ABS-CBN has bagged thirteen awards in different categories led by Star Cinema's "Hello, Love, Goodbye", the country's highest-grossing film of all time, as Best Feature Film, "A Soldier's Heart" as Best Drama Series, and "The Killer Bride" as Best Telenovela. The phenomenal love story of Joy (Kathryn Bernardo) and Ethan (Alden Richards) which also revolves around the life and struggles of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) also won Best Director (Cathy Garcia-Molina) and Best Screenplay (Carmi Raymundo, Cathy Garcia-Molina, Rona Co). The network's on-demand online streaming service iWant, now known as iWantTFC, has also bagged awards as well including Arjo Atayde as Best Actor In A Leading Role for "Bagman", "Jet And The Pet Rangers" as Best Animated Series, "The Last Manilaners" as Best Documentary Series and "The Tapes" as Best Original Programme By A Streamer/OTT.
Meanwhile, GMA News and Public Affairs has also brought honor to the country and dominated the news and documentary categories with six National Winner recognitions. Leading the list of National Winner awardees for the news and information arm of the country's largest broadcasting network are Jessica Soho as Best News Presenter/Anchor, "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" as Best Infotainment Program for its Denmark special, "The Atom Araullo Specials" as Best One-Off Documentary Programme for "Nang Tumigil Ang Mundo", and Drew Arellano as Best Lifestyle and Entertainment Host for "Biyahe Ni Drew: Taiwan's Secrets To Long Life".
CNN Philippines managed to bagged two National Award winners including Best Current Affairs Programme for One-On-One With Pinky Webb and Best News Programme for The Final Word with Rico Hizon. Arguably enough, HBO Asia's Food Lore is also a big winner in the Philippines with its "Island Of Dreams" episode as Best Single Drama/Telemovie/Anthology Episode and its lead female star Angeli Bayani as Best Actress In A Leading Role. Here are the other National Winner awardees which will represent the Philippines in the grand finals of the 2020 Asian Creative Academy Awards.
