TV5, in partnership with the Philippines' leading pay TV provider Cignal TV, continues to reimagine the Filipino primetime viewing habit with its influx of fresh and familiar faces in the local entertainment scene as it launched a new lineup of teleseryes ranging from drama, action, romance and suspense under the network's new 9:30 pm weekday primetime block entitled PRIMETIME TODO in line with its promise of inspiring and entertaining Filipino viewers with fresh and original content.
TV5's PRIMETIME TODO block enables viewers to enjoy once-in-a-week series in a variety of genres delivered from Mondays to Fridays as it offers five new shows that can will give viewers a variety of exciting stories that can satisfy their weeknight viewing tastes brought by Cignal TV's film and production arm Cignal Entertainment and its commissioned partner production firms. These include Ate Ng Ate Ko (Monday) and Carpool (Thursday) by Archangel Media, Stay In Love (Tuesday) by Cornerstone Entertainment, and Bella Bandida (Wednesday) and Kagat Ng Dilim (Friday) by VIVA Entertainment. Undoubtedly, quality entertainment is at the heart of TV5's core mission as it continues to provide opportunities for people in the entertainment industry and more meaningful reasons to come together, offering viewers access to a wide array of programs.
Those who have missed out on these new shows can catch their encore airing on One Screen (Cignal channel 9, Satlite channel 35) and Sari-Sari Channel (Cignal channel 3, Satlite channel 30). * Ate Ng Ate Ko (Mondays, 9:30 pm, TV5; Tuesday, 5:30 pm, One Screen) starring Kris Bernal, Isabelle De Leon, Jake Cuenca, Tonton Gutierrez, Joem Bascon, Kim Last and Phil Noble - This shows boasts a dramatic yet cryptic narrative of two sisters whose differences get in the way of their loving relationship. A mysterious incident causes the sisters to switch roles. The story also tackles a psychological condition called 'disassociative fugue' which is a rare form of amnesia wherein one loses awareness of their identity or other important personal information.
* Stay In Love (Tuesday, 9:30 pm, TV5; Wednesday, 5:30 pm, One Screen) starring Maris Racal, Ruffa Gutierrez, Bobby Andrews, Pooh, Marc David and Kokoy De Santos - This romantic comedy series follows the journey of a young and charming lady who dreams of becoming a maid. As the story unfolds, the audience will be introduced to more characters; all scrambling to get their lives in order and answers to their troubles.
* Bella Bandida (Wednesday, 9:30 pm, TV5; Friday, 7:00 pm, Sari-Sari Channel) - From the producers of action-packed women starrers "Buy Bust" and "Maria" comes an action-drama series loosely based on the classic comic book series of the same name by National Artist Francisco V. Coching. Showcasing a different kind of female power, the series is headlined by Ryza Cenon as an idealistic doctor who inherits mystical powers and uses them to fight injustice and avenge a heinous crime inflicted upon her by a gang of ruthless men.
* Carpool (Thursday, 9:30 pm, TV5; Friday, 5:30 pm, One Screen) starring Kenneth Medrano, Sarah Carlos, Alex Diaz, and Kate Lapuz - The suspense thriller series starts with four young individuals sharing a carpool ride together, that leads them to a whirlwind of tragedy and horrific hauntings that will continue to follow them. Its mysteries further unravel as a former classmate, played by Elora Espano, is suspected to be the one behind the events that haunt the four passengers. What makes it mind boggling, though, is that the said suspect that continues to torture them is already dead.
* Kagat Ng Dilim (Friday, 9:30 pm, TV5; Saturday, 7:00 pm, Sari-Sari Channel) directed by Lawrence Fajardo, Richard Somes, Paul Basinillo and Rae Red; starring Matteo Guidicelli, Cristine Reyes, Maui Taylor and Ella Cruz - The 2020 evolution of the horror anthology series originally shown in the early 2000s is set to give the new generation of Filipino horror fans a few more reasons to be afraid of the dark with four of the most talented, young and well-known directors of the genre enlisted to craft thirteen episodes of terrifying tales that haunted the minds of Filipinos.
