Though different from the previous editions, this year's Wish 107.5 Music Awards still carries the same spirit and tradition. Aside from celebrating Filipino artists and the works they have delivered over the past year, the awards night highlighted its advocacy of paying it forward. Php100,000 was given to the chosen beneficiaries of the winning acts while the artists themselves received Php25,000. On top of this, a total of Php300,000 was donated to three key organizations - National Live Events Coalition PH, Organizasyon Ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM), Roadie Superstar - that are providing support to the affected workers in the live events and music industries during the pandemic.
Another Php70,000 went to the Arnel Pineda Foundation as its founder and Journey frontman Arnel Pineda was named this year's KDR Icon Of Music And Philantrophy. Upon accepting the special distinction, he noted that the grant will "surely make a difference in the lives of the scholars that the foundation has been supporting for the past seven years". For this year's WMA, Wish 107.5 has donated a total of Php2.87 million to its winning artists and beneficiaries. Furthermore, Wish 107.5 FM President and CEO Daniel Razon shared in his speech that the station will intensify the use of its platform to spread music, charity and optimism especially during these tough times and encouraged everyone to continue praying to the Almighty God for strength, resilience and hope.
