As global warming and environment destruction ensue around the world, Globe Telecom continues to weave environmental care to its operations, taking measurable steps to combat these situations. Among them is its "Swap And Save" campaign where customers are entitled to a 500-peso discount on Globe My-Fi LTE-Advanced and Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi LTE-Advanced devices upon dropping off their existing Globe MyFi, WiFi stick and Home Prepaid WiFi at any of the 48 participating Globe Stores nationwide on or before August 21, 2021.

Coinciding with the celebration of World Environment Day and the Philippine Environment Month and aligned with the Globe's E-Waste Zero Program which was launched back in 2014, Globe's "Swap And Save" campaign seeks to further encourage Filipinos to dispose properly of electronic waste (e-waste) which refers to non-working and end-of-life modems and other electronic or battery-operated devices such as mobile phones, chargers, laptops, desktops and various home appliances. According to the Global E-Waste Monitor 2020 report, these contain toxic and hazardous materials that contaminate the soil and groundwater which would eventually affect food and water sources, increasing risks to the environment and human health.

To participate in Globe's E-Waste Zero program, customers need to drop off electronic waste at over 120 locations such as Globe Stores, malls, local government units and premises of partner companies and organizations. Customers may also avail of the free door-to-door pickup of e-waste weighing at least ten kilograms or more. On the other hand, Globe Stores teams will assist those taking part in Globe's "Swap And Save" campaign in completing an online monitoring form before their swapped devices are dropped off in designated in-store e-waste bins. Collected e-waste is then delivered on a monthly basis to its DENR-accredited recycling partners, TES-AMM Philippines in Pasig City and Maritrans Recycler Inc. in Cebu, for proper e-waste processing. Part of the proceeds will be used for funding the communication needs of public school teachers and students amidst the continuing indefinite suspension of face-to-face classes.

“Globe takes extra care of its customers and the environment. By offering to get back these current units, we not only give our customers a chance to own new and discounted devices for faster and better internet experience, but also ensure that obsolete and broken ones do not end up in landfills and are recycled properly,” said Globe Vice-President and Broadband Business Head Darius Delgado. For Globe's Senior Vice-President for Corporate Communications and Chief Sustainability Officer Yoly Crisanto, “We strive to translate promise into action by actively enhancing our climate action strategy. Globe continues to look for ways to reduce our own carbon footprint while helping consumers, businesses, and industries do the same."
