To survive the pandemic game that has literally put the world on a screeching halt since 2020, people has to make the transition to the so-called "new normal". Many businesses are looking for and exerting various options to keep them afloat amidst the continuing threat of the pandemic. But, how do the Philippines' mighty shopping malls thrive in these challenging times?
According to Robinsons Malls' senior vice president and Commercial Centers Division business unit general manager Arlene Magtibay, "the latest buzzword in navigating the new norm is, indeed, pivot." Since the start of the pandemic, Robinsons Malls has rolled out various initiatives that benefit both the customers and its tenant partners in its shopping centers across the country. These include the introduction of pickup stations and tie-ups with delivery rider groups most particularly in areas where their big aggregators are not present as well as its personal shopper service Robbie & Rosie.
Robinsons Malls has also launched Locally Sourced: A Gardening And Fresh Produce Fair where customers have indulged on the freshest finds from local farmers and entrepreneurs and learned various tips and details on how to thrive in the pandemic with fresh produce finds and as a start-up and thriving plantito and plantita. Recognizing that biking and outdoor dining are among the new normal efforts for people opting for more active lifestyles during the pandemic game, it has also set-up Bicycle Parking and Repair Stations in all Robinsons Malls and al fresco dining areas in their gardens and open spaces.
Aside from the need to pivot and adapt to the new normal, keeping the malls safe for customers, staff and tenants remains a top priority and tall order for Robinsons Malls. In fact, its shopping centers have been given the Safety Seal Certification by the Departments of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Trade and Industry (DTI), Labor and Employment (DOLE), Health (DOH) and Tourism (DOT) guaranteeing that they are safe to the public and minimum public health standard measures are set in place and gives mallers and shoppers peace of mind that they can go #responsiblemalling.
Robinsons Malls also sports twenty vaccination sites as part of its commitment to strengthen the fight against COVID-19 and offers exclusive deals at partner tenants until August 31st in partnership with Ingat Angat Tayong Lahat: Bakuna Benefits to those who can show their vaccination card proving that they have been inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine. Furthermore, registration for the National ID via the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) is made more accessible through the partnership of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and Robinsons Malls Lingkod Pinoy Center.
