The COVID-19 pandemic has literally tested the strength and patience of many people, but there are those who are starting to have deeper appreciation for the things that mean most to them even amidst the challenges they face due to the continuing threat of the pandemic. This is what brought Jollibee, the number one fastfood chain in the Philippines, to spark hope and gratitude among Filipinos through its #ChickenJOYItForward social media movement. This inspired Filipino families in the country and around the world to express gratitude to one another and spread Joy online, one post at a time.
In the #ChickenJOYItForward challenge, people shared their favorite stories with Jollibee that reminded them of someone they love. Some posted about a time when a friend cheered them up on a bleak day, brought them their favorite Chickenjoy just because, while others shared a happy memory with the family that they will always cherish. They have eventually passed on the joy by nominating other people while using the hashtag #ChickenJOYItForward. Aside from ordinary netizens, several celebrities and influencers have joined the fun and posted their own stories on social media as part of Jollibee's Family Thanksgiving Month celebration.
On Instagram, Jollibee brand ambassador Anne Curtis shared that one of the things she and her family in Australia like to talk about was how much they miss Jollibee considering it is considered a family favorite while Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid keeps her son Nate happy despite not being able to kiss or hug for safety reasons by bonding over their preferred and favorite Jollibee meals. Other celebrities and influencers who have also shared their stories include Isabel Oli-Prats, Pauleen Luna-Sotto and Rambo Nuñez among others.
“In the midst of these challenging times, it’s important that people look at things that inspire them to move forward. Through joyful activities like this, Jollibee as a brand can help families gather emotional support by creating a ripple effect that puts forward love and gratefulness,” said Jollibee AVP - BestSellers Category Cathleen D. Capati.
