ONE Championship, the largest mixed martial arts (MMA) organization in Asia and the most valuable global sports media property in Asian history, is making its return to action on July 30th with ONE: BATTLEGROUND. Emanating from the Singapore Indoor Stadium, the event will be headlined by a ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Championship fight as current champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao defends his title against Prajanchai PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym.
Also to be featured on ONE: BATTLEGROUND is the return of former two-division ONE World Champion Aung La N Sang who is looking to regain his former glory beginning with a pivotal middleweight clash against Leandro Ataides plus a battle of top-ranked featherweight kickboxers as Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong (#4) faces the debuting Tayfun Ozcan (#5). Indian MMA star Ritu Phogat and Singaporean-American prodigy Victoria Lee will also be in action against Chinese fighters Lin Heqin and Wang Luping, respectively. On the other hand, ONE's newest signing from the Philippines - Team Lakay's Jeremy Pacatiw - is set to make his debut on the ONE Championship stage as he takes on China's Chen Rui.
ONE: BATTLEGROUND II and ONE: BATTLEGROUND III are also slated to take place inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium on August 13 and 27, respectively. ONE: BATTLEGROUND II features a main event showdown between former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard "Landslide" Folayang and Chinese mixed martial arts star Zhang Lipeng who is making his ONE Championship debut plus former ONE Strawweight World Champion and #5 ranked strawweight contender Alex Silva taking on Miao Li Tao. Headlining ONE: BATTLEGROUND III is an explosive bantamweight Muay Thai battle between #1 ranked contender Saemapetch Fairtex and Thai superstar Tawanchai PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym as well as former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke taking on Chinese phenom Banma Douji.
