realme, the number one smartphone brand in the Philippines for the first quarter of 2021, is making its best-selling 5G-capable midrange innovation, the realme 8 5G, available via mobile postpaid plans with local telecommunication giants Smart Communications and Globe Telecom.
Launched in June, the realme 8 5G is the brand's latest 5G-ready offering in line with its commitment to make 5G technology and connectivity available to as many Filipinos across the nation as possible. With next-generation 5G technology, impressive speed and no-compromise functionality, the realme 8 5G sets a new standard for future 5G-capable smartphones in the midrange segment. Powered by Mediatek's Dimensity 700 5G octa core processor, the realme 8 5G comes packed with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ screen with up to 600 nits of brightness and 90Hz refresh rate and a massive 5000 mAh battery with 18W Type-C Quick Charging and 5G Power Saving. It also sports a 48 megapixel Nightscape Camera and 16 megapixel Primary Camera with AI Selfie Beautification technology. In addition, it features a three-card SIM tray that supports the use of 2 SIM cards and a dedicated slot for micro SD cards with expandable storage of up to 1 TB.
The realme 8 5G (8 GB + 128 GB) will be available via Smart and Globe's postpaid plans for as low as Php999 a month with minimal cashout. For Globe Postpaid, the realme 8 5G is available at Plan 999 which comes with 5 GB of open access data, unlimited texts to all networks and unli all-net calls or calls to DUO and landline plus free 3 GB of GoWiFi data, free KonsultaMD (individual subscription) and free GInsure (three-month COVID-19 insurance coverage from Singlife). On the other hand, the realme 8 5G can be availed via Smart Signature Plan 999 with 5 GB of data for access to all sites and apps, unlimited calls and texts to all networks and 50 minutes of calls to PLDT landlines.
