GMA Network reinforces its commitment to deliver groundbreaking and unconventional stories to Filipino viewers as it officially welcomes legendary award-winning writer Ricky Lee and accomplished writer Maria Regina "Reggie" Amigo among others to its talented ensemble of creative and production teams. This announcement is a major boost for the Kapuso network's continuing commitment of offering opportunities for its talents and providing topnotch and world-class entertainment for its avid viewers.

A scriptwriter, journalist, novelist and playwright, Ricky Lee is highly regarded as one of the giant forces that have shaped the ever-changing landscape of Philippine cinema. His name has been synonymous and glued to some of the most iconic and most remarkable films such as Himala (1982), Jose Rizal (1998), Muro-Ami (1999) and Death Row (2000). As the network's Creative Consultant, Ricky is set to provide basic and advance workshops for new and existing writers, recommend concepts that are forged during the said workshops and assist in recruiting new writers for the network. He will also conduct script appreciation workshops for the cast, creative team and production staff and crew of the programs that he will be assigned in.

The esteemed screenwriter recounted his experience working with the network before, expressed his enthusiasm to be playing a part in some of the Kapuso network's subsequent shows and cited who among the network's wide roster of talents he want to work with. Ricky shared, "I have worked with GMA before. I did Telesines and films like Jose Rizal, Muro-Ami, and Death Row for GMA Films. I fondly remember Jimmy Duavit and Butch Jimenez because it was so pleasant to work with these young, dynamic, and visionary producers. Now that I am back working with GMA, I am excited to be part of its plans for the network's drama department. I'm always excited to work with good actors, especially those that I haven't worked with before. So it would be nice to work with Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Jennylyn Mercado, and Alden Richards. Nakatrabaho ko na before si Dennis Trillo who has always been good, pero siyempre gusto ko pa rin siyang makatrabaho. And of course, andyan na rin si Bea Alonzo." He also revealed that he would love to work with some of GMA's young stars if he were to make a television adaptation of one of his works. “It would be nice to do a back-to-back adaptation of Salome and Moral. Maybe with Bianca Umali as Salome. I saw her in Legal Wives and I thought she was very good. It would also be nice to imagine GMA's young female stars in Moral.”

GMA Network also welcomes the latest additions to its skilled stable of writers including Maria Regina "Reggie" Amigo, Mark Angos, Jimuel Dela Cruz, Benjamin Benson Logronio and Aris "Ays" De Guzman. (Image Source: GMA Network)

Notable for her works in various Philippine dramas, Reggie revealed she is beyond excited for the new chapter in her career. "I am honored that GMA has accepted me into the family. I am excited for this next chapter in my life - to work with new people, to discover a different point of view, to learn new things, and to forge new friendships. This venture I now face won't be easy, but with the support of the Kapuso family, I will meet the challenge head-on." Aside from Lee and Amigo, the network also proudly welcomed the following to its skilled stable of Senior Writers: Mark Angos, who is part of upcoming family drama series “I Left My Heart in Sorsogon;” Jimuel Dela Cruz, who joins the romantic drama series “Heartful CafĂ©,” the forthcoming episodes of “Stories from the Heart: Never Say Goodbye and Love On Air,” and other highly-anticipated programs “Widows’ Web” and “I Can See You: Alternate;” Benjamin Benson Logronio, who is onboard the team of Stories from the Heart: Never Say Goodbye, the riveting legal drama “Artikulo 247,” and the award-winning drama anthology “Magpakailanman;” and Aris “Ays” De Guzman, who is involved in the top-rated fantasy drama series “Agimat ng Agila.”
