In 1963, a young teenager by the name of Ramon "RJ" Jacinto started an FM radio station in the backyard of his parents' home. It would eventually become a true pioneer in Philippine radio as it was the first FM station in the country to play music that other stations would not dare to play but soon follow time after time. It would elevate itself as a legendary radio station that introduced Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Rolling Stones and many other popular foreign artists to Filipino listeners through their music. At the same time, it was the first to propel the rise of Original Philippine Music (OPM) through a platform where the likes of Sampaguita, Juan Dela Cruz Band, Hotdog, Asin and others have ushered in a golden age of Filipino pop and rock music. The legendary station is Rajah Broadcasting Network Inc. or more commonly known as RJFM.
Today, RJFM has ten AM and FM radio stations serving in different major areas across the Philippine archipelago including RJFM 100.3 Metro Manila, DWRJ 96.5 Tuguegarao, DWDJ 91.1 Baguio, DZJR 99.1 Puerto Princesa, RJFM 100.3 Cebu, DYFJ 99.9 Bacolod, DYNJ 98.3 Iloilo, RJFM 100.3 Davao, DXRJ 88.5 Cagayan De Oro and DXQJ 88.3 Iligan and will soon operate in Santiago City in Isabela, General Santos City and Zamboanga. RJFM continues to innovate by being the first FM radio station in the Philippines to simulcast several of its programs on television via digital free and pay TV platforms. These include RJ Sunday Jam (Sundays, 9:00-11:00 am) with RJ and his Angels interacting with viewers and listeners nationwide every Sunday morning through contests, greetings and showcasing content from the video vault and Drivetime With DJ Jamie (Monday-Friday, 5:00-7:00 pm), the first of its kind to be seen on television.
Both RJ Sunday Jam and Drivetime With DJ Jamie are well received with thousands of requests and a wide array of selfies flashed on the television screens. If that's not enough, listeners and viewers nationwide are also able to keep updated on the latest local and international news with RJFM's simulcast of Radyo Bandido on digital free TV in Mega Manila and SKYcable nationwide. This proves that RJFM has been consistently increasing its primary audience consisting of decision makers, executives, heads of households and those with spending power to include millennials, students and the entire family and bridging the gap across all generations of music lovers. If you have RJTV's digital broadcast on your digital TV box or as an immimently mandatory part of your SKY subscription, then hop aboard and enjoy listening to the greatest and latest whether it is your favorites throughout your life or tunes you've never heard of.
