Pinoy pop girl group BINI makes history anew as world-renowned music and pop culture magazine Rolling Stone named it one of the rising international artists under the Spotify RADAR 2022 program. Dubbed by their followers as the Nation’s Girl Group, they are included in the list of emerging artists who bring “a little something for everyone, whether you need hope or healing” through its latest song “Pit A Pat".
Rolling Stone described the eight-member group composed of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena as having “a loud, vibrant, sugar-coated vibe that is only second to their commanding, ear-grabbing style". It also hailed BINI’s latest track "Pit A Pat" as “a summer anthem brimming with attitude and optimism that sees the group confidently singing about empowerment, respect, and ambition". Tara Aquino of Rolling Stone wrote, “They’re here, and they won’t let you forget it.” The song was written by Korean singer-songwriter Sophia Pae with music composition and arrangement by Rohan and Ddank. BINI members also took part in the songwriting of its Filipino verses.
Meanwhile, fans of the fast-rising Pinoy pop girl group were treated to a special event entitled "Bloom1ng: The 1st BINIversary" held last June 11, 2022 (Saturday) at the SM Megamall Ice Skating Rink in celebration of the group's first year anniversary. BINI also continues to add vibrancy to the music scene as it dropped the official music video for the song “Na Na Na” last June 8, 2022 (Wednesday). It was also confirmed that their previous hits, “Golden Arrow” and “Kapit Lang,” will be part of the Lunar Codex time capsules to be sent to the Moon in 2023 with the aim to be discovered by future generations. The P-pop group is among the Kapamilya artists who are slowly breaking into the international scene as ABS-CBN continues to champion Filipino talents on the world stage.

(Image Source: Orange Magazine TV/Red Bull) |
For the first time ever, Red Bull Dance Your Style, the brand’s take on a global 1-on-1 street dance competition with a unique battle format featuring the latest hits and timeless classics that challenge a dancer’s freestyle and improvisation skills, is coming to the Philippines. Unlike other major dance competitions with professional judges, the crowd will play a crucial role in determining the winner of each battle. The crowd participation means the dancers will really need to express their personality and passion through their dancing. They’ll need to win the crowd to move past their opponents.
The first major Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines event will kick off at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) Amphitheatre with the National Finals on July 23 featuring the top 16 dancers qualified and pre-selected by nationally-established dance consultant and a member of the Philippine All-Stars Vince Mendoza. “The selection process was not easy and hard as well. Can you imagine gathering talented people and sizing up their skill-set? It’s like a dream and also having that excitement during the selection process," shares Mendoza when asked about the decision-making that went into choosing the country’s representatives. All the participants will be gathering together in one place for an intense yet fun dance battle to test the diversity of their move-set while proving that they are the best dancer in the world.
Each round of every battle will consist of two thrilling rounds with the DJ spinning mixes of different genres ranging from modern pop and rap music to old-school classics. The competitors will need to prove that they have rhythm, movement, creativity, and charisma since capturing the crowd’s attention and acquiring their approval is the only way to secure a spot in the next round of the competition. The winner of the National Finals will then move on to the World Finals and represent the Philippines, competing against over 60 dancers from 30 countries. The World Finals is set to take place in Johannesburg, South Africa on December 2022. Interested viewers may secure their spot to watch Red Bull Dance Your Style live by registering online at www.redbull.com/danceyourstyleph.
