AirAsia Philippines through its "alwaysREDy: anytime, anywhere" corporate social responsibility (CSR) umbrella program has officially inked a strong partnership with ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. (AFI) for various CSR and sustainability projects. The signing of the partnership dubbed as “alwaysREDy: Pilipino para sa Pilipino” was seen between AirAsia CEO Ricky Isla, SuperApp Managing Director Ray Berja, and Head of Communications and Public Affairs Steve Dailisan; and ABS-CBN Foundation Managing Director Roberta Lopez-Feliciano and Marketing and Donor Relations Head Paul Mercado. alwaysREDy: Pilipino para sa Pilipino aims to uplift the lives of underprivileged Filipino families through its various campaigns on disaster preparedness, women and children protection, environmental sustainability and community support.
Other than providing free seats for AFI and its beneficiaries through AirAsia PH’s growing domestic route network, the World’s Best Low-cost airline will also allocate cargo spaces to aid disaster-stricken areas. AirAsia PH has also committed its Allstars Peer Support and its 1st airlift wing reserve unit under the Philippine Air Force to augment manpower requirements during disaster relief efforts. An alwaysREDy tabletop board will also be made visible in all of AirAsia Ph domestic check-in counters to encourage guests to donate for the charitable causes of AFI. “We are glad to have a partner that is on the same page as us on promoting corporate citizenship and cooperative nation-building. We trust that our collaboration with ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation will propel our missions and initiatives further to the benefit of our countrymen. Together, AirAsia Philippines and ABS-CBN Foundation will Win as One”, Mr. Isla said. “We are so grateful that Air Asia Philippines joined us in our Pilipino Para sa Pilipino campaign, we are honoured to work with you as you help us realign our mission to serve every Filipino one community at a time,” Ms. Lopez said. The event was highlighted by the signing of a commitment wall by AirAsia PH and ALKFI executives which also signifies the strong collaboration by the two organizations. Its newly-forged partnership with AirAsia PH for "alwaysREDy: Pilipino Para Sa Pilipino" coincides with ABS-CBN Foundation's 33rd year anniversary. With a renewed vision towards fulfilling its mission to serve Filipinos and more than three decades of experience, AFI has continuously championed children’s welfare, education, environmental stewardship, disaster relief and rehabilitation, and community empowerment.
In recent years, the flagship programs of the Foundation have innovated to match the current needs of its beneficiaries. In the continuous quest to serve the Filipino child, Bantay Bata 163 has expanded its helpline services to include families in need of psychological support and counseling for mental health concerns. Programa Genio helps bring out the best in Filipino learners by providing them access to quality education, materials and learning tools. Bantay Kalikasan environmental conservation efforts now span ridge to reef — from reforestation efforts at La Mesa Watershed to advocating citizen efforts at the Verde Island Passage, and other community-engaged activities in various areas around the country. Sagip Kapamilya has gone beyond providing essentials during disasters but is actively involved in rehabilitation and shifting to build resiliency. This transformation is also seen to broaden and strengthen the Foundation’s partnerships with various stakeholders, such as government agencies, local government units (LGUs), other non-profit organizations (NGOs), and the private sector. “Our commitment to public service began 33 years ago, and we are grateful to everyone who has been journeying with us. Our experience puts us in a position to become even more responsive and adaptable amid changing needs and current challenges, and to truly live out our mission to be in service to the Filipinos," said ABS-CBN Foundation managing director Roberta Lopez-Feliciano.
ABS-CBN Foundation began in 1989 to fulfill the mandate of former ABS-CBN Chairman, the late Eugenio Lopez, Jr that “the reason our business exists is for public service.” His daughter, the late Gina Lopez, laid the groundwork for the Foundation’s programs that directly benefit the children, their families, their communities and the environment. Today the Foundation records a wealth of inspiring stories of transformation, resilience, love, and hope.
