After a gruelling year of regional and international tournaments in the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT), 16 of the strongest pro teams in the world are gearing up for the VALORANT Champions 2022, the year-end finale of the VCT, where only one team will be crowned the VALORANT World Champion.
The Asia Pacific (APAC) region has sent three representatives to fight for a chance to make history on the global stage. Following their historic run as the first APAC team to reach the Masters grand final, Paper Rex hopes to impress once more at the upcoming Champions 2022. They are joined by XERXIA which overcame great odds to be able to represent the region on the world stage and Boom eSports which proved themselves worthy for the final slot in the APAC Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQ). VALORANT Champions 2022 is currently taking place in Istanbul, Turkey until September 18, 2022.
“It’s been such a huge year in VALORANT for our region. This year we saw our teams progress further than ever before on the international stage. Our APAC teams wowed audiences with their aggressive and unorthodox plays and made the world sit up and take notice. APAC teams have proven that they should not be underestimated and we are looking forward to seeing them perform at Champions. I hope our fans will join us in cheering these teams on,” said Riot Games APAC eSports Marketing Head Mark Chui. On the other hand, Riot has organised a suite of social content and activities for fans to enjoy on the Road to Champions which runs until early September. These include the following:
• APAC Rising Music Video: In celebration of the APAC representatives' road towards Valorant Champions 2022 glory and supremacy, Riot has collaborated with Dharni, a Singaporean beatboxer, to produce an APAC Rising music anthem which can be seen on VALORANT’s social media channels.
• Commissioned Pro-Team Murals: To pay tribute to the skill and passion of APAC teams, Riot Games worked with Sam Lo in Singapore, piyasak khiaosa-ard in Thailand, and ongkogx in Indonesia to immortalise their stories in a series of exclusive murals that fans can visit in person. VALORANT fans and art enthusiasts can find these murals at the following locations: *SCAPE, 2 Orchard Link, Singapore 237978; Victory Hub, 459 13-15 Ratchawithi Rd, Khwaeng Thanon Phaya Thai, Ratchathewi, Bangkok, Thailand 10400; and MBloc Space, Jln Panglima Polim No.37, Melawai, South Jakarta, Indonesia.
