True to its mission of creating an inclusive workplace, GCash, the Philippines’ top fintech company, extends its comprehensive benefits program for its employees who have LGBTQIA+ partners and domestic partners. This initiative is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UN SDG) No. 5 which promotes gender equality. Under the e-wallet’s new Life Partner Benefits Program, GCash employees can now avail of the benefits for their significant other, regardless of gender and marital status. Employees will only be required to submit minimal documents to enable them to declare their partners as their dependents.
“At GCash, we understand that our employees have different needs, including wanting to take care of their loved ones. Our Life Partner Benefits Program will provide employees’ partners with health insurance, Disability, and Accident Insurance and will allow them to be their beneficiaries for life, among others,” said GCash Chief People Officer Robert Gonzales. These benefits also cover bereavement needs and wellness allowances. Access to tech apps like KonsultaMD and Mind You are also provided. “We made sure our application process for this program is easy and simple. We want all of our GCash kabarkadas to have access to company benefits that will help uplift their quality of life, without any bias or discrimination,” added Gonzales.
