The “Panahon sa Taiwan: Ang Iyong Love Story” Travel Fair, held last May 18-19, 2024 at the Activity Center of Market! Market! in Taguig City, brought a vibrant display of Taiwan’s charm to Manila. The event, organized by the Taiwan Tourism Administration, attracted travel enthusiasts, media, and industry partners to celebrate Taiwan’s rich culture. The event was graced by esteemed guests including the Deputy Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines Dustin Teng-Shi Yang, Taiwan Tourism Administration Director Cindy Chen, and Taiwan Tourism Ambassadors Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos. Their presence underscored the importance of cultural exchange and tourism between Taiwan and the Philippines.

Adding to the excitement, the new “TAIWAN” 3.0 logo was unveiled, inspired by the island’s natural beauty, its mountains, oceans, and winding roads. Harmonizing with the Taiwan Tourism Administration logo, it reflects the core brand identity: “Enjoy The Mountains, Encounter The Sea. Enchanted With The Island." Accompanying the logo is the new slogan, capturing Taiwan’s abundant tourism resources and rich cultural history. “Waves Of Wonder” symbolizes this energy, bringing travelers wave after wave of delightful experiences. One of the event’s key highlights was the showcase of various Taiwan travel packages by invited travel partners, designed for Gabbi and Khalil’s upcoming “Meet and Greet” in Taipei on December 14 and Kaohsiung on December 15. These packages offer exclusive opportunities for fans to explore Taiwan and meet the ambassadors in person. Chen remarked, “Gabbi and Khalil truly embody the spirit of Taiwan – their enthusiasm and love for our country are contagious. We are thrilled to have them as our ambassadors."

Gabbi and Khalil delighted the audience with a heartfelt rendition of Meteor Garden’s “Qing Fei De Yi (Can’t Help Falling in Love)". Their performance was a crowd favorite, adding a touch of nostalgia and romance to the event. During the event, attendees were introduced to the ‘Taiwan The Lucky Land’ campaign, a major initiative by the Taiwan Tourism Administration. Foreign independent travelers who hold foreign passports, stay for three to 90 days, are not part of tour groups, and have not applied for other NT$5000 subsidies with this administration are invited to share their favorite moments from the travel fair on social media using the hashtag #TaiwanTourismPH2024. By engaging online, they stand a chance to win NT$5000 in consumption vouchers, exclusive for eligible participants. More information and registration details can be found at https://5000.taiwan.net.tw/index_en.html.

Additionally, complimentary transit half-day tours were available for passengers with 7 to 24-hour layovers before their next connecting flight, providing them with a convenient and enjoyable way to explore Taiwan’s attractions. The “Panahon Sa Taiwan” Travel Fair successfully showcased Taiwan’s unique attractions and fostered a deeper connection with Filipino travelers. As we look forward to the final leg of the fair in October, Taiwan Tourism Administration is excited to continue this journey of cultural exchange and tourism promotion.
