Liquid ECHO PH Sweeps Falcons AP.Bren, Seizes 2nd MPL PH Championship Crown

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League (MPL) Philippines has successfully concluded ita Season 13 with Team Liquid ECHO PH clinching its second championship title in the country’s biggest and most premier MLBB eSports tournament. In their best-of-seven match against Falcons APBren, the Cavalry edged out the Hive in a dominating fashion with a score of 4-0, ending their battle and taking home the biggest share from the prize pool worth US$150,000 or over Php8.7M.

Both Falcons APBren and Team Liquid ECHO PH will represent the Philippines in the upcoming MLBB Midseason Cup (MSC) 2024, featured in the inaugural eSports World Cup taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a staggering prize pool of US$3M or over Php170M. Meanwhile, main season awards were bestowed on the day. Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya was declared the Grand Finals MVP after propelling the team to the top, clinching the highest and most-coveted title. Prior to the highly anticipated MPL PH Season 13 Grand Final, Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol and David Charles “FlapTzy” Canon were named inductees in MPL Philippines’ Hall of Legends during the MPL PH Alamat Awards. Kairi is the first Filipino import in MLBB, having been part of Onic Indonesia since mid-2022 after a long stint in its Philippine team. On the other hand, David “FlapTzy” Canon had proven his world-class excellence in the EXP lane being a two-time world champion for the Falcons APBren franchise, alongside two MPL titles, a Finals MVP in the M5, and several gold medals during his days at Sibol. Meanwhile, several MPL PH athletes were honored and recognized for their exemplary performances, according to their respective roles. These include the following:

• Best Exp Laner: Nathanael “Nathzzz” Estrologo
• Best Jungler: Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson
• Best Mid-Laner: Alston “Sanji” Pabico
• Best Roamer: Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo
• Best Gold Laner: Marco “Super Marco” Requitano

Hall of Legends title holder coach Francis “Ducky” Glindro also earned the Coach of the Season award. Moreover, the winners of the Creative Category awards are the following:

• Freshest Face Award: Edward “Edward” Dapadap
• Best Team Content Award: RSG Philippines
• Best Team Correspondents Award: Anna Marcelo of Fnatic ONIC PH, Dannica Suazo of Blacklist International
• Best Media Award: ABS-CBN News, Tiebreaker Times, Manila Bulletin Sports, Philstar.com, All-Star Magazine, SPIN.ph, ONE eSports
• Best English Talent: Renmar “Reptar” Santa Cruz
• Best Filipino Talent: Theo “Uomi” Ignacio

More than 2,500 offline spectators flocked and gathered at the Events Hall of SM Southmall in Las PiƱas City to support their favorite teams and bond with the local MLBB community through various activities such as watch parties, team merch booths, and cosplaying, among others. Those who can't make it to the venue of the MPL PH Season 13 Grand Final were able to catch all the action live on MPL PH's official Facebook and YouTube channels. The 13th iteration of the MPL Philippines recorded a peak concurrent viewership (PCU) of 824,114, higher than that of MPL PH Season 12, according to eSports analytics partner eSports Charts.
