Prime Video has officially announced major details regarding the upcoming Philippine adaptation of the global fan-favorite series "LOL: Last One Laughing" which is set to premiere on the global online entertainment streaming platform exclusively across over 240 countries and territories worldwide on July 4, 2024. "LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines" is among the latest adaptations of "Documental", a highly successful Prime Video series in Japan where the host leads 10 comedians in an anything goes “battle of laughter behind closed doors".
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios in association with Unitel Straight Shooters, "LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines" is hosted by Asia's Unkabogable Phenomenal Superstar Vice Ganda, known for her quick wit and infectious humour that has captivated audiences nationwide and overseas then and now, and pits ten of the most celebrated comedy talents in the country comprising of Victor Anastacio, Jayson Gainza, Pepe Herrera, Chad Kinis, Empoy Marquez, Kim Molina, Jerald Napoles, Negi, Tuesday Vargas, and Rufa Mae Quinto in a riotous battle of wit and resilience where anything can happen. Picture a room devoid of laughter where comedians armed with jokes and timing engage in a high-stakes showdown to outlast their peers without cracking a smile themselves. It’s a grueling test of comedic prowess and self-control as they navigate outrageous antics and strategic maneuvers to emerge as the last one standing. "LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines" will be exclusively available on Prime Video starting July 4, 2024 with its first two episodes to be followed by two succeeding episodes every week after. Aside from the Philippines, Prime Video is also set to premiere "LOL: Last One Laughing Thailand" on the same date as the Philippine adaptation and "LOL: Last One Laughing Indonesia" the week after. The Thailand adaptation is produced in association with Base Entertainment and hosted by Siwat Chotchaicharin (C) and Pramote Pathan (Oat) while BASE Entertainment co-produces the Indonesian adaptation to be hosted by Pandji Pragiwaksono. C Siwat and Oat Pramote, Thailand’s popular hosts celebrated for their spontaneous humor, have expressed their excitement with C commenting, “Thai comedy has always been renowned for our unique creativity, and LOL: Last One Laughing Thailand serves as the right avenue to showcase our comedic talents.” Oat added, “Being part of LOL: Last One Laughing Thailand is a fantastic opportunity.
