Expanding its commitment to a healthy lifestyle, Samsung Galaxy Watch becomes the official title sponsor for the Manila Marathon and Cebu Half-Marathon. The flagship races, spearheaded by leading race organizer RUNRIO, is expected to draw a combined 16,000 participants as it traverses the country’s two major cities. The Galaxy Watch Manila Marathon will be on October 6, 2024 at the SM Mall of Asia Complex while the Galaxy Watch Cebu Half-Marathon will be on November 24, 2024 at City di Mare by Filinvest. On top of that, Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Watch Run Club.
Kicked off last August 18, 2024 at Ayala Triangle Garden, the club entices the running community to foster a stronger sense of camaraderie as it pushes the runners to do more with the help of Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch7. The weekly six-session program will have training sessions and challenges to promote fitness while also strengthening the bond in the community as runners unlock ultra performance. “This is part of our commitment to the community all the more that now, we’re seeing more and more take in the sport and embrace the healthy lifestyle that we’re advocating. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Manila Marathon and Cebu Half-Marathon are also poised to promote the Philippines through sports toirism and serve as the flagship running events in the country as RUNRIO, as announced in the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum last August 27, 2024 at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila, recently partnered with the Department of Tourism (DOT) and is actively seeking stronger ties with local government units and, more particularly, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC). As of this writing, over 4,000 runners have signed up for the Samsung Galaxy Watch Manila Marathon featuring 5K, 10K, 21K and 42K races starting and ending at the SM Mall of Asia grounds and, according to plans, covering the cities of Pasay, Paranaque, Manila, Makati and if needed, Taguig. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Cebu Half-Marathon on November 24th is set to be followed by stops in Baguio, Clark, Bataan, Manila, Legazpi, Cebu, Iloilo, Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Dapitan. Medals will be at stake for each leg and runners who will compete in all legs will receive medals with all the legs crafted in them.
