ONE Championship, in partnership with official presenting partner Visit Qatar and official media partner Media City Qatar, announced that the world's largest mixed martial arts organization will return to Lusail Sports Arena with ONE 171: Qatar, the organization's second blockbuster event to be held in the said country, on February 20, 2025 featuring two world championship title fights. ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan Haggerty of the United Kingdom will defend his gold against Chinese kickboxing veteran Wei Rui while ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion Joshua Pacio of the Philippines will face interim king Jarred Brooks of the United States in a highly anticipated World Title unification bout which will also serve as the third battle in their heated rivalry.
ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong stated, “After a successful event in Qatar last March, ONE Championship will return to Lusail Sports Arena in early 2025 for another showcase of the world’s best martial arts talent.
