Wise, the global technology company building the best way to move and manage the world’s money, recently became the first global non-bank in the Philippines to launch Google Pay for its cardholders. Both Wise Account and Wise Business customers can now add their Wise cards to Google Wallet and pay using Google Pay on their Android devices and make fast, secure contactless transactions in-store, online, in-app, and on public transport – both locally and internationally.
The launch addresses growing Filipino demand for convenience – according to a Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) report, digital payments now account for over 57% of retail transactions by volume. Wise data also shows that users are 1.5 times more likely to transact with their cards on mobile wallets compared to those using physical cards. In addition to the physical card, customers can also add up to three digital cards from Wise to the Google Wallet, each with their unique card number, providing an extra layer of protection. Customers can freeze and unfreeze these cards instantly, track every transaction in real-time, and even assign different cards for different types of spending. With the Wise account and card, customers can now hold, send, spend and manage money globally in over 40 currencies at mid-market exchange rates with no hidden fees. Customers also get two free ATM withdrawals of up to Php12,000 each month, making it easy to access cash when needed.

To add a Wise card to Google Wallet and pay with Google Pay, customers can:
1. Open the Wise app
2. Tap the Card tab to view all available cards
3. Select their card to add, then tap “Add to Google Pay”
Once activated, customers can tap and pay anywhere Google Pay is accepted, both in the Philippines and around the world.
