Love, longing, and larger-than-life dreams take the spotlight as Repertory Philippines rolls out its 89th season in 2026, built around the theme “By Love, Transformed”. The veteran theater company announced four productions for the season, ranging from classic comedies and a Tony Award-winning musical to a fairy tale for young audiences and a Shakespearean favorite. Season passes are also returning, timed for the holiday gift-giving rush.

The season opens with REP Unplugged: Staged Readings Reimagined, set for March 21-22 and March 28-29 at the REP Eastwood Theater. The staged readings feature Noel Coward’s Private Lives, directed by REP artistic director Jeremy Domingo, and Anton Chekhov’s The Proposal, directed by Cara Barredo. The twin bill promises brisk pacing and sharp humor drawn from two enduring comedy classics. On June 5-28, the spotlight shifts to the musical stage with The Man of La Mancha, staged at the same venue. Directed by Nelsito Gomez and performed in partnership with the Manila Symphony Orchestra, the Tony Award-winning musical follows author Miguel de Cervantes as he spins an imaginative tale inside a Spanish dungeon, transforming into the idealistic Don Quixote. In August, REP’s Theater for Young Audiences brings Cinderella: A Tale Of The Glass Slipper to life at the REP Eastwood Theater. Directed by Joy Virata and Cara Barredo, the production retells the familiar story of kindness, courage and a long-awaited night at the royal ball, complete with a fairy godmother, a mischievous rat named Putterman, and plenty of twists along the way. The season closes with Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, opening in September at Saint Cecilia’s Hall of St. Scholastica’s College in Manila. Directed by Domingo in partnership with the college, the comedy follows four lovers and a group of amateur actors who wander into an enchanted forest, where fairies, spells and confusion collide.

Alongside its productions, Repertory Philippines will continue its training programs throughout 2026. The REP Workshop for the Performing Arts returns with two sessions — April to May at the REP Eastwood Theater and June to July at MINT College in Taguig — offering training in acting, singing and movement. The REP Learning Curve Masterclass Series will also run, focusing on specialized areas such as directing, playwriting for young audiences, puppetry and practical matters for theater professionals. Season passes for the 89th season are now available, offering discounts and perks across four productions. Options include Gold, Silver, Red and Eastwood Community passes, with packages tailored for regular patrons, students and Eastwood residents and employees. Discounts range from reduced ticket prices to workshop offers and priority access to training programs. Season passes may be purchased through REP’s online order form, at the REP main office in Makati, or at the REP Box Office in Eastwood Mall, Quezon City. Physical season pass packets and individual tickets will be available for pickup starting January 2026.
