Fresh off its landmark merger with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the Professional Fighters League (PFL) returns to Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. on October 16, 2026 as Wintrust Arena hosts the crowning of the inaugural PFL Women's Flyweight World Champion. The event continues the momentum of the newly combined PFL and MVP organization which is expanding its global footprint while continuing to deliver world-class MMA and boxing events around the world.
The timeless Liz “Girl-Rilla” Carmouche (26-8) faces off once again with submission specialist Jena Bishop (11-3), this time for the inaugural PFL Women’s Flyweight World Title. One of the pioneers of women's MMA, Carmouche made history by competing in the UFC’s first-ever women's fight against Ronda Rousey in 2013. She is the former Bellator and PFL World Tournament Champion and has been competing in MMA since 2010 after having spent five years in the Marine Corps. More than a decade later, she remains one of the sport’s elite competitors, having won 13 of her last 14 bouts, 10 of which came via finish. Not content with one of the best hit lists in the game, she eyes more gold and will compete against a woman she has defeated once before in the 2025 tournament finals. On the other hand, Bishop is one of the most credentialed grapplers in women’s MMA. The American boasts a BJJ black belt, is a former IBJJF No-Gi World Champion, and represented the USA at the ADCC World Championships which has translated to seven submission wins in her 11 MMA victories. Having met Carmouche in the PFL World Tournament finals last year, she was caught by a hook in the third round which led to a TKO finish. Since that bout, Bishop has responded emphatically by earning consecutive first round submission victories, one of which was an undefeated Georgian wrecking ball in Borena Tsertsvadze, to secure another shot at championship gold.
Now, with the inaugural PFL Women's Flyweight World Championship on the line, the rivals meet again in Chicago to determine who will make history as the division's first champion. “Chicago has become an important market for PFL, and we're excited to return with another championship event for our fans. The inaugural PFL Women's Flyweight World Championship is another milestone for our organization and a testament to the incredible talent competing across our roster. Liz Carmouche and Jena Bishop have already proven they're among the very best in the world, and there's no better stage than Chicago to crown the first champion in this division,” said PFL CEO John Martin.

Puregold Hakot Relay Makes History As It Debuts First-Ever 8KM Individual Challenge In Southern Luzon

Puregold’s wildly popular Hakot Relay, now a three-leg nationwide series, brings its much-awaited Southern Luzon leg to Vermosa Sports Hub in Imus City, Cavite, this time with its first-ever 8KM Individual Challenge. The Hakot Relay drew thousands of participants on its inaugural run with its uniquely Filipino twist: instead of focusing solely on speed, teams took on Puregold’s trademark hakot portion before crossing the finish line with medals and hefty grocery hauls. The concept was an instant hit among families, friends, and running communities, paving the way for its continued success.
Set on September 19, 2026, this year’s Southern Luzon edition marks its most ambitious expansion yet, offering even more excitement to look forward to. The new 8KM Individual Challenge is designed for qualified participants seeking a tougher test of endurance. While the Hakot Relay celebrates teamwork through shared strategy, the new format focuses on individual athletic performance while preserving the relay’s rewarding finish. With both categories taking place on the same day, the Cavite race offers twice the fun and double the challenge to participating runners. For Puregold Price Club Inc. Senior Marketing Manager Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, the newly introduced 8KM Individual Challenge is meant to keep pace with and enhance the Hakot Relay experience as it grows with its community. She said, “The response to Hakot Relay has encouraged us to keep innovating with every edition. This is our first Southern Luzon leg, and we want to introduce an exciting challenge while staying true to the experience that runners have come to know and enjoy. We hope the new 8KM Individual Challenge gives more people an opportunity to test themselves while still being part of the panalo energy that makes Hakot Relay special.” Every registered runner will bring home a customized race kit featuring an event singlet, race bib, and finisher’s medal. Hakot Relay participants will also receive a Grocery Sling Bag and a Finisher’s Grocery Bag while finishers of the new 8KM Individual Challenge will receive a Finisher’s Grocery Cart and other exclusive prizes.
With the addition of the 8KM Individual Challenge, the Southern Luzon leg marks the biggest evolution of the Hakot Relay since its debut. By adding another way to participate in the traditional relay, it broadens the event experience without losing the teamwork and community spirit that have defined it since the beginning. Whether runners choose to conquer the course with teammates or take on the new solo category, race day promises generous take-home rewards and the signature Puregold Hakot Relay experience.

DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev said, “The College Swimming League is an exciting new competition that brings together some of the most successful programmes and talented athletes in collegiate sport. We are delighted to partner with the CSL and make every race available live and free-to-view for fans across more than 200 markets worldwide. At DAZN, we are committed to growing audiences for emerging and established sports alike, and this agreement reflects our ambition to connect passionate communities with premium live content on a global scale.” CSL Chief Executive Officer Rob Kent said, “Partnering with DAZN is a major commercial milestone that delivers unprecedented global reach for our premium sponsors and media partners. Launching September 24, this deal monetizes and scales college swimming across 200+ countries. By packaging powerhouse programs from the ACC, SEC, and Big Ten, including Virginia, Cal, Michigan, Auburn, Stanford, Indiana, Tennessee, NC State, Louisville, Ohio State, Georgia, and Alabama, into our fast-paced match format, we are transforming the sport into a broadly, internationally televised property. This is an incredibly exciting moment for swim fans around the world who can now follow every single race of the action live.”
CSL Chief Operating Officer Kyle Sockwell said, “Until now, international swimming fans have had no reliable way to watch NCAA competition, and that underserved audience is exactly who this agreement is built for. NCAA rosters feature many of the world’s best international swimmers, and that talent base gives the CSL a built-in global audience from day one. Pairing an innovative, fan-focused property like the CSL with a platform of DAZN’s global scale turns that demand into measurable growth for the sport. From our first conversations, DAZN put real thought into how to grow swimming’s international audience, and that mattered to us as much as their reach.”

Hundreds of volunteers from schools, private organizations, public-sector offices, and the community came together at Sitio Hinitan, Barangay Duhatan, Lipa City last August 15, 2026 for Big Ben Complex's Tree Planting Activity. The annual environmental initiative of the city's premier commercial and lifestyle center brought together people from different sectors with a shared goal and that is to help make Lipa City greener and contribute to a healthier environment for future generations.
Around 5,000 saplings of Dao, Calumpit, Alibangbang, Molave, Kape, and Guyabano were planted during the activity. Once established, these trees are expected to contribute to increase greenery, cleaner air, improved ecosystems, and other long-term environmental benefits. More than simply putting seedlings into the ground, the activity highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in protecting and caring for the environment. Every tree planted represents a commitment to a greener future and a reminder that meaningful environmental change can begin with simple, shared actions. The strong turnout also demonstrated how partnerships among schools, individuals, private organizations, and government sectors can create a greater impact when working toward a common cause.
Big Ben Complex’s annual tree planting activity is a commendable example of how a private entity can actively contribute to environmental stewardship and community engagement. Through initiatives like this, the hope is that today’s seedlings will grow into thriving trees that future generations can enjoy and benefit from. One tree may seem small, but thousands planted together can help create a lasting difference. One seedling, one volunteer, and one community at a time.
