Gaming addicts and enthusiasts are certainly looking forward to the biggest and most anticipated local gaming and e-sports event of the summer this year. Yes, the Pinoy Gaming Festival 2017 returns and it kicks off with the highly intriguing Summer Assembly.

For those who want to know more about the upcoming event which is due on the last days of April, here are four things I've learned so far about the tremendous affair, thanks to the event's official Facebook page.

1. There will be only eight games to be showcased at the PGF Summer Assembly.

As of this writing, six out of eight have already announced for the spectacle. These include DOTA 2, League of Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Just Dance 2017, Vainglory and Project Xandata. If you are not contented with this lineup, then you may look forward to the next three announcements as we get closer to the assembly. Don't worry, Ronie The Trubist will keep you updated on what is to come. Just follow me on Twitter for the latest updates.

2. Working with the true purveyor of the Filipino digital lifestyle is worth synchronization.

The organizers of the summer gaming spectacular is once again working with Globe Telecom, the number one telecommunications brand in the Philippines with more than 62 million mobile subscribers based on my estimates, which is slated to make a strong bond before, during and even after the festival.

3. The PGF Summer Assembly 2017 is more than just gaming.

Aside from looking at the games to be showcased at the festival and watching exciting local e-sports tournaments, there will be more surprises and fun-filled activities waiting for those who can come to the event. It is sad for any cosplay fanatic to know that there will be no cosplay competition, but they can do cosplay if they have the guts to do it anyway.

4. The best things in life are free, and the PGF Summer Assembly 2017 is no exception.

Perhaps the best reason why any Filipino gamer should come to the Summer Assembly is the fact that you can come to the it without the need to pay for a registration fee. To make it simple, the three-day event is absolutely free.

The Pinoy Gaming Festival Summer Assembly 2017 is the event that any Filipino gamer can look forward to during his or her summer vacation. It will be held at the Trinoma Activity Center in Quezon City on April 28-30, 2017, so what are you waiting for? For more updates, follow the event's official Facebook page here.
