Facebook Messenger has been on a roll from its beginnings as just a
simple feature on the world's largest social networking site to one of the most
popular mobile apps in the Philippines and in the world. More than 1.2 billion
users not only communicate with their friends and loved ones using Messenger
but also rely on chatbots for our daily needs such as the latest news and
shopping for our desired items through one simple text request.
Now, Filipinos can pay their bills, purchase load for their own mobile
devices and even send money to their loved ones using Messenger powered by
Paymaya and Globe Telecom's microfinancial service GCash. In fact, an existing
mobile money account is not needed for anyone to make a transaction as long as
they have the Messenger app on their smartphones.
Using Paymaya or Globe GCash on Facebook Messenger is simple. Just
search for @PaymayaOfficial or @GCashOfficial on the Messenger app to start a
transaction. A "chatbot" will then guide you to available menu
options for money transfer, bills payments and mobile load purchases. Users may
need to verify via a password before making and confirming a transaction; thus,
making transactions on Messenger safe and well-secured.
New GCash and Paymaya users can create their own account on the Messenger
app while those with existing GCash and Paymaya accounts should link their
wallet to Facebook Messenger. They can also inquire about their account balance
and even send money to those who are not on either Paymaya or GCash. Paymaya
users may avail of the physical card via www.paymaya.com/shop
with no delivery charges required which can be linked to their mobile
wallet and eventually used at any ATM nationwide and where MasterCard and VISA
is accepted.
