Out of thousands of participants hailing across the nation, Karlo Rosales (also known as KE Rosales) emerged on top as the champion of the NBA 2K18 Philippine Tournament held last December 1, 2017 at the Power Mac Center Spotlight in Circuit, Makati after a disappointing start.

From his early semifinals match loss, Rosales was able to redeem himself in the bracket-style gaming tourney by powering through the loser's bracket all the way to the finals against the undefeated Philippe Herrero IV (also known as PBE Herrero).

The best-of-three finals was a tightly contested one as Herrero has one win away from not only securing the championship but also assuring his undefeated streak throughout the tournament. However, Rosales overwhelmed Herrero in the first round forcing a double over time and eventually taking the first win. In the second round, Herrero put up a good fight regardless of his fatigue but Rosales took the advantage and defeated Herrero in impressively dominant fashion to take home the win and the championship.

KE Rosales bagged the grand cash prize of Php30,000 and a Sony PlayStation 4 NBA 2K18 bundle as the tournament champion. In the end, it is all smiles for Rosales and PBE Herrero as they will both represent the Philippines in the NBA 2K18 Asia Tournament which will be held during the Taipei Game Show on January 2018. There they will compete against the top two gamers from Hong Kong, China, South Korea and Chinese Taipei with a prize pool of US$6,000 at stake.
