Globe Blocks Thousands For A Cause

Globe Telecom

Globe Telecom has been upping up the ante on its own drive against illegal content as the premiere purveyor of the Filipino digital lifestyle experience has blocked more than 2,500 sites mostly containing of child pornography content all throughout the year 2017 as part of its ongoing #PlayItRight campaign.

What the telco has been doing makes sense since it complies with the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009 which is a legitimate reason behind the all-out blocking from the online public's eye. Aside from its drive against child porn, Globe is also stepping up the game in informing consumers to enjoy content available on legitimate sources and not to rely on torrents and illegal ways of downloading.

The #PlayItRight campaign was officially launched in early 2017 and aims to combat illegal curb and protect intellectual property rights. The campaign has earned the support from local and international content providers, and it is slated to protect consumers from the use of illegal content. With the recent developments on hand, it is in my mind that Globe's new game has been successful from the start and it will undoubtedly continue to keep Filipino consumers away from being indulged in illegal curb and protect their own rights to enjoy their own brand of entertainment.
