March 19, 2018 was indeed a very special day for McDonald's Philippines as it celebrated National Breakfast Day by distributing thousands of free Longgadesal sandwiches to Filipinos all over the country in selected branches nationwide. But prior to this unique occasion, the global fastfood chain has provided a more memorable breakfast experience to fellow Filipinos who were displaced during the recent eruption of Mt. Mayon volcano in Albay as well as those living in Marawi who have fled their homes during the armed conflict.

McDo gave thousands of its new Longgadesal sandwiches to evacuees and families living in five evacuation centers across Albay on March 5th and 6th, while those who have stayed at the Bakwit Village Transition Center in Marawi City were delighted to taste the brand's newest breakfast offering which were given last March 11th. To the victims of the Mount Mayon eruption and the Marawi siege, it was an unforgettable National Breakfast Day that will be considered a timeless piece of their rehabilitated lives.

One interesting element that makes every year's National Breakfast Day celebration special is an online video that featured inspired stories of hope and new beginnings. For this year, McDonald's is sharing stories from mothers who have gave birth to children inside evacuation centers during the Marawi siege. The video featured the visit of television personality Atom Araullo who listened to mothers' everyday struggles and hopes which are highly regarded as new inspiration for them to rebuild their lives.

With these in mind, it makes sense why National Breakfast Day is considered one interesting and enjoyable moment that truly makes every Filipino's life brighter even when they wake up and eat breakfast.
