As the summer season approaching fast in the Philippines, millions of
young minds from different learning avenues across the nation are set to put
what they have learned and even their skills to good use as they are set to
bear fruit and enter the real world. Among them are the first batch of
graduates from senior high school which can be highly-regarded as the first
fruits of the government's K-12 program. In any case, are they really ready for
the next chapter in their lives or consider thinking the other way around?
Well, asking the graduates such will give you a mixed reception on that
matter. Many would likely consider either getting employed ahead of their time
or boost their skills in college, while there are those who consider starting
their own business to shoulder their own sake. On the other hand, there are
concerned parties who think that these fruits are not ready for the real world
and it makes sense considering that it is because what they have learned is not
enough to make haste.
In my case, I think that a typical senior high school graduate is ready
to enter the real world; however, it would take more beyond one's skills and
behavior to immerse into the corporate world. With that in mind, starting a
business or getting into college may be a sensible option depending on whether
he or she can go with it. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see if
senior high school graduates can immerse themselves on their own turf and
explore new discoveries using their own skills.
