A new school year has begun with millions of elementary and high school
students across different parts of the country ready to indulge their minds
with new knowledge that would help them towards their future, but it is
interesting for us to learn that there are individuals and private corporations
who are willing to help in making the start of the school year more interesting
and enjoyable. Believe it or not, SM Supermalls is one of them.
Several employees from three SM malls in Batangas have taken part in
the nationwide Brigada Eskwela campaign last May 26, 2018 as part of their continuing
commitment to the Department of Education and the malls' corporate social
responsibility (CSR) program of instilling employee engagement through volunteerism
and fund raising.
Employees of SM City Lipa cleaned and repainted the two-classroom
building at Bulacnin National High School which was donated by SM Foundation
back in 2010, while SM Center Lemery employees have done the same and even
changed the door of Lemery Pilot Elementary School's two-storey, four-classroom
building which was eventually a donation from SM Foundation that took place on
September 15, 2017. On the other hand, employees from SM City Batangas have
gone to Batangas National High School to clean the surrounding area of its two classroom
building which also happens to be donated by SM Foundation in 2010.
