The recently concluded 2018 FIFA World Cup was indeed one in the sports
history books with shocking exits, surprising moments and memorable football
action all leading up to France's second championship win over Croatia in the
finals. Aside from what has been taken place in the month-long action-packed
affair, football fans from different parts of the globe were able to share
their own extraordinary moments during their time in Russia on their social
media accounts using their mobile devices more particularly Vivo smartphones.
The global smartphone brand has wrapped up its sponsorship of one of
the world's most watched sporting events in time for its official closing ceremony
before the anticipated Finals game as well as its highly intriguing "My
Time, My FIFA World Cup" campaign, and what better way to cap it all off
than to take part in an enjoyable musical celebration and stage a unique programme
for football fans and sports buffs around the world.
During the closing ceremony, Vivo joined the music performance of the
2018 FIFA World Cup's official song "Live It Up" performed by Nicky Jam
featuring Will Smith and Era Istrefi by exposing an exclusive 90-second branded
segment on the pitch-side. The aforementioned segment was part of the Vivo
Super Time project which features music-themed activities that are slated to
unite fans around the globe such as the Vivo DJ show and the Vivo Swag dance movement.
Fans in the stadium were able to witness these performances on the giant
screens through a frame branded with Vivo's newest flagship smartphone, the
Vivo NEX.
On the other hand, a contingent of 56 football fans, celebrities,
social media influencers, media partners and consumers from different countries
have taken the opportunity to capture what is going on before, during and after
the Finals game from the pitchside and share them on social media as part of
Vivo's well-planned Super Fan Photographer programme. With these in mind and a
sleuth of wonderful and extraordinary outcomes, Vivo has done a fine job in
bringing the beautiful game closer to the fans and celebrate the culture and
vibe of the FIFA World Cup.
