The Philippine Popular Music Festival (PhilPop) is highly regarded as
one of the largest songwriting competitions in the Philippines today. In case
you didn't know, the festival returned for its fifth season following a
one-year hiatus where the foundation put its focus on discovering fresh talents
that are slated to become the future of the Philippine music industry through
songwriting boot camps. For the first time in its history, the foundation has
accepted submissions in different Filipino languages in which ten songs composed
by songwriters from Visayas and Mindanao were semifinalists.
